Trust Your Guts
I see this saying all the time on my Instagram feed as Ascot and Hart post themselves and others in their “Trust Your Guts” attire. I have always been one to be cautious and pay attention to how I’m feeling inside. Lately, though, I’ve been wondering if it’s possible to tell the difference between a gut feeling telling you not to do something and anxiety telling you not to do it. Anxiety is something that runs in my family and I, unfortunately, am not exempt from it. It’s been a roughish go... sometimes more than others, but I’m dealing with it. Most of the time I think I can tell when it’s anxiety and I just need to push through it and do things anyway, but sometimes I can’t tell if I’m just too scared to do something or if my body is seriously telling me to hold up and reconsider. I guess that is just one of the downsides of being anxious.. While you know you need to push through that voice telling you not do whatever it is you’re thinking of doing, you also have to keep in mind that that gut feeling may be more serious.
If you, or someone you know, has anxiety, how do you deal with it?
