DIY Crate TV Stand
For those of you that don't know, I am back in Victoria getting ready to start my last year at UVic! I have a new roomie and over the last couple of weeks we've been making little changes here and there around the apartment to make it feel like ours. One of the things we really wanted to do was get a new TV stand. But, when you're on a student budget you have to do things the cheapest way possible. We decided to create this super simple stand using crates we found at Michaels. We're thrilled with how it turned out and can't wait to fill all the sections with little things we collect throughout the year. .
Materials:
Crates (purchased from Michaels)
Screws
Drill
Whatever you want to put inside each of the crates.
Instructions:
1. Arrange your crates: we decided to make a four crate stand with two on the top and two on the bottom in order to make it as sturdy as possible.
2. Secure the crates with screws: we screwed two screws into the back corner of each pair of crates and then screwed one in the top half and one in the bottom half.
3. Style the quadrants! This has proven to be the most difficult part. Whatever I put in there is on display for all to see so I want to make sure it's beautiful!
Ours isn't quite complete yet in that we haven't got the quadrants right just yet and we have a cord situation to deal with.. But for now, we are very happy!
