DIY burlap banner ::Cashmere and Plaid
The idea of fall is a wonderful thing. Cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, scarves, hats, boots, crunchy leaves, drinking endless amounts of tea, watching the world change colours, yadayadayada. Real life fall is not like that. The days are short, the skies are gray, it's always cold, the ground is soggy, school work piles up, my mood goes down, and so do everyone's immune systems. Fall is not my favourite season. I am a summer girl. No question about it. But, to keep it at a two, I have identified my distaste for the season and will now proceed to move on and try to make the best of it. In an attempt to start the season off right, I am welcoming fall with a banner!
Materials:
- burlap
- leaves
- string
- needle
- paint
Instructions:
- Cut your burlap pieces into whatever shape you like. Make sure you cut enough for each letter of whatever phrase you choose to use.
- Paint the letters of your phrase onto each piece of cut burlap.
- String the leaves and letters on using a needle and string. (You could also hot glue gun the letters onto the string, but I like that the string lets me move the letters around and reposition things in the future.
