Team Orange
I couldn't be much more behind the ball on this post if I had tried...
Let's start with some back story here, shall we.
After being bullied for years and years, the final straw came for Paige when girls spray painted on the side of her school "Paige Glazier is a c*nt" in bright orange paint. Rather than letting the experience destroy her she took and turned it into something amazing. Enter Team Orange.
"Team Orange is a pro-social behaviour campaign that teaches elementary aged children the values of inclusion, loyalty and respect. We chose these three words to represent Team Orange because at a young age kids demonstrate mistreat, exclusion, and betrayal. Team Orange wants to change these behaviours by teaching the positive side through fun and engaging presentations at schools. Our presentations help kids make positive choices about friendships through giving them a fresh perspective on the values of inclusion, loyalty and respect."
These past few weeks I've been helping Team Orange develop their new brand. I've been working on their website, helping them with social media posts, and most recently, been helping spread the word about Team Orange's nomination in the Me To We/Canadian Living awards. Paige has been nominated in the Social Action category of the awards and has been working tirelessly at spreading the message of Team Orange asking for votes. She went to Chicago last week to attend We Day Illinois and met Selena Gomez, Kardinal Offishall, Martin Sheen, and got to hang out with Craig and Mark Kielburger. She's also been in our local paper and had been promoted by one of the biggest radio stations in our area. It's been an amazing experience for her so far and I couldn't be more proud.
If you'd like to help Paige win this amazing award vote HERE. Voting closes tomorrow night at midnight so hurry on over there! Also, there is a super awesome Instagram contest going on on the Team Orange Instagram contest to help spread the word! If you repost a Team Orange picture and tag them, you're entered to win a Team Orange sweatshirt! Fantastic. I know.
