snow day-22.jpg

Best part of the week: Monday was a good day. I woke up in a good mood, ready for the week. The snow was falling nicely, I made an excellent cup of coffee if I do say so myself, I had a good day at work, and when I got home I took a few photos of the snow from the windows and curled up on the couch with the baby blanket I’m knitting.

Worst part of the week: The crap weather we had for most of the week meant I couldn’t drive anywhere - including to go get groceries. I was a hungry, grumpy girl by the end of the week. But everyone can relax because yesterday’s rain washed away the snow and allowed me to hit up the grocery store after work and pick up on all the essentials as well as a few treats to make up for my suffering ;)

Something I’m grateful for: My walk to work yesterday was ugly. It was super slushy and slippery, and windy, and pouring, and my purse kept slipping off my shoulder. Obviously I spent the first 10 minutes of my walk cursing at the weather gods and angrily declaring how done with winter I am. But about halfway through my walk I decided that what I was really done with was the negativity. With every step I took I thought of something I was grateful for, something that made this shite weather feel not so shitey. So, this week I was grateful for shoes that are warm and don’t leak; for having a warm place to sleep and hunker down in while the weather is being nasty; for the warm clothes I have to wear when the weather is cold; for the extra clothes I can change into when I get home soaking wet; for the warm water I have in my shower; for the multiple blankets I can wrap up in; for the warm drinks I can make in an instant; and for the access I have to technology and books to keep me entertained while I’m [lucky enough to be] stuck indoors.

Something I’m excited for: The Monday night class that I'm signed up for was cancelled last week due to the snow so now I'm doubly excited for the class we have coming up next week!

400) Do you have a favourite mug? Yes, two actually. One I got this past Christmas and one is from Ghost Mountain Co, a local girl who makes beautiful ceramic mugs, tumblers, ring dishes, vases, bowls, and more.

Happy (long) weekending friends!
